Bolivia’s first onchain citizen-led electoral control app

🌍 Introduction

Tu Voto Decide is an open-source civic-tech initiative built by AsoBlockchain Bolivia to bring transparency, traceability, and immutability to electoral processes.

In August 2025, during Bolivia’s general elections, we piloted the app for the first time at a national scale. The results proved that citizens are ready to secure democracy through blockchain.

This project is non-partisan, non-profit, and fully citizen-driven. It has no political alignment — it exists to defend democracy, empower voters, and build trust in electoral systems across Latin America.

To empower citizens to become digital witnesses of democracy by creating sovereign digital identities, uploading polling station reports (actas), and securing them on Arbitrum as NFTs.

Key Insights

• Despite limited funding for AI credits, the app successfully onboarded over 1,200 users with verified digital IDs.
• 52 actas were tokenized and published as NFTs, providing immutability and transparency.
• Downloads exceeded expectations (3,642 vs. 2,000 projected).
• Limited number of actas uploaded was due to AI and gas resource constraints, not lack of user demand.
